The waterjet cutting technology represents a versatile and environmentally friendly solution for the processing of multiple materials such as ceramics, stone, glass, metals, wood and polymers, offering the possibility of reproducing detailed shapes with a high level of accuracy and complexity.

The acquisition of waterjet systems involves substantial initial investment costs and discrete operating costs of consumables subject to wear; on the other hand, labor costs, in the event of correct operation of the plant, remain rather low, but it is important to always bear in mind that unreliable, non-certified or poor quality abrasive materials can, in general, compromise operations, cause delays and machine stops, or the need for rearrangements which can significantly inflate the final cost.

The different types of abrasive are developed maintaining particular care in the percentage distribution through the sieve, leading to the complete elimination of dust, excessively fine particles or oversized granules. The computerized production and quality control apparatus allows us to keep the quality level of our Garnet sand constant, avoiding blockages or dragging into the abrasive supply pipe from the minihopper or into the focuser, while allowing the use of larger tanks for abrasive suitable for the storage of sufficient material for cutting operations outside working hours and without direct assistance from the operator.

Most of the recycled or blended materials, sold on the market at a lower price, are obtained from spent abrasives from naval sandblastingor petrochemical. In general, there is a significant loss of abrasive power due to the fracturing of the crystalline structure, which leads to a lower abrasive power and greater dustiness. In the second analysis, intrusions of harmful elements, such as parts of paint or hydrocarbons, were found inside the recycled abrasives, with inevitable health risks and a heavy environmental impact, also leading to greater wear of the abrasive jet equipment.
